Heba women had a brilliant day at University of East London. The trip demonstrated how university is not just books and exams. Among others, we visited the fashion department, business development centre, three types of printing room, and saw how hands-on and practical degrees can be. All the places we visited were chosen from the UEL website by participants , who then composed a group email to our contact, with a proposed agenda for the day. It shows how far we have come! Thanks LSIS, from all the group, for funding this great opportunity.

HEBA women visited the Bishopsgate Institute for a unique and specially designed class, exploring the changing lives of women throughout British history. It was a really exciting excursion in a beautiful and historic setting, with a real life historian guiding us and giving us special access to some very thought-provoking resources, including early maps of London and photographic images. Giving the women a chance to look at and discover the many differences and similarities of women’s roles in society then and now.
